Introduction

In 2024, Johan asked me to expand his website and support him with the digital aspects of launching a podcast. Together, we created a multi-page website for his podcast.

Needs, requirements, and challenges

My role as a Digital Soulmate was to design all digital assets, provide strategic input to Johan, and guide the project smoothly from start to finish.

The key wishes and requirements were:

• An overview page with all podcast episodes: All episodes had to be shown on this page and automatically refreshed when a new episode was published.

• Individual podcast episode page: This page needed to include all content related to the individual episode, such as embedded Spotify audio, show notes, links, and other relevant information.

• Easy to update: The website needed to be easy for Johan and his team to manage, with maximum automation wherever possible.

This is the overview page where all episodes are automatically listed upon addition. Manual updates aren’t necessary at this stage, though they may be required in the future as more seasons are introduced.

Reflection

Video tutorials provide an effective solution

At the end of a project, I often create video tutorials. I record a walkthrough of the website and go through the main user flows. Clients are usually very pleased with this.

I should have opted for a more readable font

At Your Number Man, I used a font that was too light, making it difficult for some people to read. Since the end of 2024, I have been implementing WCAG guidelines as a standard in all my projects to prevent similar issues.

Having a strong rapport with clients helps achieve excellent results

The project document, transparant communication, adherence to deadlines, and regular feedback sessions provided clear direction and ensured a smooth and highly enjoyable project.
