Introduction

In 2024, Joyce enlisted my help to give her business a visual identity. We worked together to design a logo and website that fully matched her vision and her clients’ needs.

Needs, requirements, and challenges

My role as a Digital Soulmate was to design all digital assets, provide strategic input to Joyce, and guide the project smoothly from start to finish.

The key wishes and requirements were:

• Clean and serene look:  For both the logo and website, creating an instant professional and friendly impression for users.

• One-page website: A simple website with minimal content and functionality, easy to maintain.

• Content: Unique photos and text tailored to the users of Pedicure Ariette.

• User experience: A seamless user flow for accessing information, filling out the contact form, and scheduling an appointment.

Niels created my website last month! I’m very happy with it because it’s vibrant, clear, and easy to navigate. 

The process at a glance

For projects like Pedicure Ariette, I typically develop a low-fidelity concept of the page, offering recommendations on layout and content. Feedback and design choices are shared through a PDF or online video call.

Once we are satisfied with the logo design, we often experiment with colors and fonts to ensure it fully aligns with the client’s and her users’ preferences.

All other website content and photos are straightforward and to the point, directing users to the contact form so clients can quickly get in touch and Joyce can respond. Simple and effective.

Reflection

Tailored solutions to match every budget

Experience has taught me that solutions should match the client’s budget. I often suggest freelancers and small businesses to start small and gradually grow their website.

Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) not implemented

For Pedicure Ariette, I did not take WCAG guidelines into account. Since the end of 2024, I have been implementing this standard in all my projects.

Having a strong rapport with clients helps achieve excellent results

The project document, transparant communication, adherence to deadlines, and regular feedback sessions provided clear direction and ensured a smooth and highly enjoyable project.
